About the job As a Software Architect works on both technical and design aspects of a project. Creativity as well as a detailed understanding of coding and leadership skills are essential. The Software Architect is responsible for defining the high level and detailed technical designs for supported teams and or programs. They will collaborate with technical leadership and product leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with the product roadmap, business goals, and technology strategy. Hands-on participation in the software development lifecycle, including working with backend developers creating solutions and APIs. Our current Backend technologies are: MERN, Python, JavaScript is handy for occasional integration work. Bash, JSON. Responsibilities Lead technical designs; provide oversight for design implementations and codebase; ensure industry standards and best practices are applied in technical designs and code development. Designs the enterprise integration architecture (data, processing logic, presentation layer, etc.) ensuring alignment of technology to the business strategy. Provides input to the product roadmap. Responsible for translating the customer's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for large complex IT solutions and integrating architecture. Completes project level architecture reviews and vendor selection. Serves as an architectural subject matter expert. Designing, developing and implementing highly efficient algorithms and data processing routines, developing software requirements from marketing requirements, developing detailed software designs, developing production code, developing unit tests and test cases, and maintaining released products. Ensure the technical rigor is in place for the solutions being developed. Participate in proof-of-concept and technology evaluations, vet possibilities and make recommendations. Own architectural roadmaps for supported teams; actively contribute to the product roadmap in collaboration with program leadership. Requirements Bachelors in Computer Science 3+ years of experience as a system architect, cloud architect, software engineer, technical consultant, engineer; experience Agile environment is a MUST. Experience with iOS, Android, JavaScript, MERN and related frameworks like Python, React, Vue.js, Node.JS is a big plus. He/she should have experience in Full Stack not just the backend (Proficient with Web frontend such as JavaScript, jQuery, React, and others.) He/She must be able to share their skills and expertise with their staff as well as set a positive example for them. He/she needs to be able to encourage their team members to think creatively as well as keep them motivated. 3+ years of system architecture experience with commercial products. Experience with Linux or MacOS environments. Experience with Microservices. Experience in SQL and NoSQL databases.
