The current enterprise environment consists of multiple stand-alone databases Postgres 12 as well as Java Application deployed on Apache Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux and Proxy Servers. The role requires the DBA to work in a dynamic environment with software developers, DB team, System admin and Network Team, using various operating systems such as Ubuntu Linux, Windows, and VMW are. The ability to work with minimal supervision and the ability to work in a team in an agile environment is required. The role requires someone who has fully embraced open-source technologies and has previous experience in leading organizational transformations. Prior exposure to alternative DB technologies such as Time Series optimized databases would be a plus. Experience and innovative ideas in database administration, data replication, DevOps and middle-tier administration are highly desired. The Database Administrator will provide database administration/application support to the entire system development life cycle. The individual will be responsible for daily operations, monitoring, backup and recovery, performance tuning, installation, configuration and patching of databases. The role requires the DBA to work with System Analysts and the Data Manager to review and optimize logical data models/database scripts and implement them into the physical database.
