FCIT signs MoU with PEF

MoU has been signed between the Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) and Professional Education Foundation (PEF)   An MoU has been signed between the Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) and Professional Education Foundation (PEF).Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Pro Vice Chancellor University of the Punjab and Mr. Jawaid Faruqui, COO PEF signed this agreement in the presence of Prof. Dr. Shahzad Sarwar, Dean FCIT and other executives from both organizations.The MoU will serve the purpose to offer scholarships to the students who belong to a relatively low income background. PEF will offer scholarships in terms of full tuition fee waiver to 50 students every year starting from Fall 2021.It is the first time that PEF has offered scholarships to the students of computing disciplines. The organization is already providing financial support to the students of medical and engineering programs. Each selected student of FCIT will get a scholarship amount 60,000 PKR per year for a period of four years. 50 selected students from a batch will receive scholarship amounting approximately 12 million PKR for four years. Up till now PEF have become a source of smile and future success of more than 2000 students across different disciplines in Pakistan. Codefest 2022 Event Date : 20th May 2022.   FCIT conducted a speed programming competition on Friday with the motivation and support from dean FCIT. From faculty special thanks to Dr. Abdullah and Madam Madiha Khalid for their overall support. GDSC team, especially their lead Fatima Sherazi, has dedicatedly worked hard for this competition. I am very thankful to the judges for giving their time to Sir Umair Babar, Sir Ahmad Ghazali, Madam Sanam Ahmad, Dr. Sadia Shahzad. I am highly thankful to Muhammad Ammar Aslam (BCSF17A013) and Hashir Irfan (BCSF17A024) for their volunteering service as judge and system configuration. I am thankful to chairman Software Engineering Dr. Murtaza Yousaf, chairman Information Technology Dr. Waqar-ul-Qounain, chairman Data Sciences Dr. Shahid Manzoor for their support. I am thankful to lab staff, especially Senior Network Administrator Muhammad Rizwan. I am thankful to the media society & event management society for their support. Lastly, I am thankful to all participants for participating in the event with passion. Junior programming competition held before Friday prayer and senior programming competition held after Friday prayer in the old campus main library, where students from all degrees and both campuses have participated. 56 teams have participated in the junior programming competition and 46 teams have participated in the senior programming competition. Many of the students were willing to participate but refused due to lack of space and systems availability, we are sorry for that. Next time we were planning to have an event in multiple rounds to give a chance to more students in the first round, so be ready by dedication and hardwork, because this particular event is directly related to your professional career starting soon InshaAllah. Every participant deserves congratulation and in many cases, it is really, very close and position goes to someone with minute difference.
