STARZPLAY is a subscription video on demand service headquartered in Dubai and available in 19 countries in the MENA region. Our service streams thousands of blockbuster Hollywood movies, TV shows, documentaries, kids’ entertainment and dedicated Arabic content to subscribers in the region.
We are looking to hire a skilled IT support engineer to assist our clients with all IT related technical support issues. As an IT support engineer, you will meet with clients to determine the nature of the problem, diagnose hardware or software issues, provide effective assistance, and maintain strong relationships. You may also be required to install new software applications and train clients on proper application use.
To ensure success as an IT support engineer, you should have in-depth knowledge of business software and hardware systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and high level interpersonal skills. Ultimately, a top-class IT support engineer resolves all IT issues quickly and effectively while maintaining a good relationship with the end user.
Responsibilities:
- Installing and configuring the end users machines, Laptops and servers
- Creation & Maintaining IT Enterprise & Information Security Policies within Organizations
- Implementing OnSite & Remote Access control workflows & related process across all business systems platforms by communicates the goals, policies, and procedures of the company to all teams
- Implementation of Enterprise Level Active Directory Solution for centralization of all clients within all offices (Including Laptops, Mobiles & Other Smart devices)
- Managing email exchanges within organizations & related vulnerability management/protection mechanisms to avoid phishing, spamming & 2FA
- Managing Site-to-Site & Remote VPN Accounts (IPSec or SSL) across all offices
- Managing IT Inventory across all offices; develops processes to implement quarterly audits within organization
- Collaborates with users, vendors, technicians, and managers to understand and assess computing and system needs and requirements.
- Evaluates current technology use and needs of the company and recommends software and hardware improvements
- Oversees backup, security, and user help systems
- Creating SOPs for NOC to provide technical support to users & Increase IT Systems reliability through an automation focused mindset to solving problems
- Prepares and delivers operational or project progress reports
- Implements and oversees operational budget and expenditures
- Implementing & Managing SingleSignOn (SSO) across all business systems
- Supporting LAN, WAN and WLAN technologies across different locations
- Supporting DevOps team on developing Jenkins/AWS Config based deployment pipelines
- Working with DevOps team to build, maintain & secure all terrafarm & other playbooks to support operations
- Involvement with incident management and response
- Analyze complex systems from a reliability and resilience perspective
- Incident Escalations & assisting DevOps during incidents to resolution by collaborating with multiple engineering teams
- Improve availability, reliability, and observability of StarzPlay services and reduce the burden of human toil with tooling and automation
- Organizational Backup policies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science.
- Proven work experience as a technical support engineer.
- Knowledge of web services, API, and IP-based protocols.
- Expert with Windows, MAC, UNIX/Linux and VM ware technologies
- Familiar with security concerns (server hardening, two-factor authentication, SSL, VPN)
- Is available for out-of-hours working (shift, stand-by, call out), to an extent which meets Branch Office and service operations requirements
- Experience in supporting 24×7 systems is mandatory
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN and WLAN Network environments
- In-Depth Knowledge of VPN
- In-Depth knowledge of VOIP
- Familiar with packet sniffing/decoding and replay tools (i.e. Sniffer, Ethereal, Packetizer, TCPdump, Wireshark) including headers ingestion
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Shell
- Knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems.
- Good time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to think critically
