Game Train is an industry-led IT accelerator, with the dedicated aim to enhance Pakistan’s role in the Global IT/Gaming space by providing a platform for upcoming intellectual capital and chiseling the talent pool. Game Train is set on revolutionizing the Gaming sector and the IT industry, by bringing together industry leaders, academics, students, developers, and esports players to highlight Gaming as a career and a way of life.
We build relationships with top gaming studios & tech companies in Pakistan as employer partners that believe in our cause and understand the need for chiseling the talent pool for the growth of the Gaming & IT Industry of Pakistan.
We have launched MERN Boot Camp in collaboration with P@SHA and PESB for their TechLift initiative to train 4,000 young individuals in the 5 skills where the industry has faced a skill gap. In addition to this, we launched Pakistan’s first instructor-led Unity-certified Junior Unity Developer Bootcamp in partnership with Generation Pakistan and Unity USA. Our training boot camps also cover Game Art, Unreal Engineering, and Blockchain Engineering.
We are working on identifying gaps that the industry faces when looking for talented individuals to fulfill their hiring needs. In addition to conducting these, we are also looking into general corporate training for on-job individuals such as business communications, ethical and professional mindset, and many more.
Overall, we have graduated 200+ Learners through our Bootcamps and achieved a placement rate of over 90%, while helping these learners find their way in the Gaming & IT industry of Pakistan.
Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a lab assistant who has at least 2 years of hands-on experience working as a MERN developer.
- Attend taught sync sessions conducted by lead instructors and ensure that it is understandable to the learners
- Ensure learners are attentively understanding taught sync sessions
- Ensuring learners have been assigned individual hands-on tasks for their async sessions
- Providing individual assistance during lab exercises to learners
- Providing support by conducting supplementary sessions on coding and lab exercises
- Ensuring learners complete their tasks timely and submit them by meeting deadlines
- Supporting program team in daily attendance and submissions of assessments, assignments, and exams timely
- Supporting lead instructor in rechecking the submissions of assessments, assignments, and exams timely
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another related field
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working as a MERN developer.
- Experience and expertise in complete MERN (Node JS, MongoDB, React JS/Angular JS and Express JS)
- Experience teaching, coaching, and/or working closely with young adults and/or knowledge of current trends and issues in adult education.
- Familiar with the following: coding foundations, web development, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Git & GitHub, Agile Software Development / SCRUM, Object-oriented programming and design, data structures and algorithms, Spring Boot
- Relevant industry certifications will be an advantage
- Up-to-date knowledge and insights on software developer industry trends
- A portfolio of successful projects to present will be a benefit.
- Comfort with using technology to collaborate (e.g., Google Suite, Zoom video conference, Canvas, etc.)
- Competency in Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English, and Urdu. Key regional languages are a plus
