FCIT visit to Suparco

FCIT is highly thankful to Suparco for a very hospitable and informative visit. The FCIT faculty is highly motivated to collaborate with Suparco on Final Year Projects (FYPs) and other initiatives. We are hopeful that this collaboration will prove highly effective for both organizations. Furthermore, it will open new corridors of opportunity for FCIT students and faculty. The joint work of FCIT and Suparco will, InshaAllah, bring new indigenous solutions and improvements to Suparco's existing operations. As a result, we will see changes that will ultimately benefit the common population of Pakistan.

QS World University Rankings 2026: PU secures notable position

The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for Computer Science and Information Systems has been released, presenting a list of the world’s leading universities, with the University of the Punjab placed in the 351-400 band in this field.

According to the rankings, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has once again been ranked as the world’s number one university in computer science this year. American universities continue to dominate the list, with Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University also holding prominent positions within the top 10.

Outside the United States, the National University of Singapore and the University of Oxford jointly secured fourth place for their performance in computer science.

Experts said that these rankings provide important guidance to students worldwide in selecting higher education institutions.

Chief Minister Punjab Laptop Scheme 2026 – Phase II

The Government of Punjab has launched the Chief Minister Punjab Laptop Scheme to equip meritorious students with essential digital tools for academic advancement.

 I am pleased to inform you that the Phase of the Chief Minister’s Laptops scheme has been launched on 31^st January 2026 – Registration is OPEN NOW. (Portal is LIVE).

The students enrolled in Undergraduate BS 4-Years (16 years – Mostly from session Fall 2025) at Public Universities / Colleges, Public Medical & Dental Colleges / Universities are encouraged to apply for this Laptops Program. In this connection we request you to kindly encourage your students to apply for the Laptop scheme at the given link. The summary of eligibility criteria is also given on Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) portal at given link.

In the world of competitive coding, consistency is rare. However, Team GATO (Muhammad Ibraheem and Muhammad Subhan) has proven to be an unstoppable force this season.
