Introduction - FCIT:

 

FCIT, formerly known as PUCIT, is the largest and one of the finest institutions of higher learning in Pakistan in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Software Engineering. Our mission is to rigorously train our students in computing and affiliated disciplines, so that they can serve humanity with skill, knowledge, and high moral character, and be a source of pride for the country. Almost 10,000 students have graduated from FCIT since its establishment. Current number of graduating students in 2023 is 600 approx. FCIT is one of the most competitive academic institutions in the country with less than 5% acceptance rate for its BS degree programs. The National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has repeatedly ranked our BS degree programs in the ‘W’ category.

 

FCIT has a highly demanding academic environment with international standard curricula and 28 faculty members with PhDs from Europe and North America, including Fulbright Scholars with PhDs from University of Central Florida, and University of Texas at Arlington, and three Erasmus Mundus Scholars. The impact of these scholars and other high caliber faculty has been tremendous in providing an inspiring learning environment to students, grooming them professionally, and shaping their worldview in today’s highly interconnected and challenging society.

ANTI-NARCOTICS EVENT PUBLICITY


To spread awareness among students about drug use EMS organized ANTI-NARCOTICS AWARENESS SEMINAR with our guest speaker , Miss Kauser Akbar.Miss Kauser Akbar is a clinical psychologist. She has completed her graduation and post-graduation from University of the Punjab Lahore(CCP) PU. She has Presented on various workshops on Cognitive, drugs & Behavioral therapies.The seminar on anti-narcotics went great. Our honored guest speaker Miss Kausar
Akbar gave a comprehensive talk on drug abuse and the terrific horrors caused by it. All the attendees actively participated in the seminar, and everyone vowed to take every possible step against drug abuse. Surely this seminar has raised awareness and created an impact against drug abuse.

​Faculty members of Public & Private Sector Higher Education Institutions with relevant commercialization partners from Industry/ investor/ private/ public sector R&D institut​es/ Spin-offs / Startups at leading Incubation Centers or Accelerators.Researchers (Faculty Members Public, Private. universities) Industrialists ( Industrial Professional), Inverstors & Entrepreneurs(who are at NICs, Investors) can apply for it in collaboration with each other.

Considering the facts above, Planning Commission/ CDWP approved the project's enhanced scope to give the 4th Call for proposals. Hence Ph.D. Faculty Members (who have ready research, lab scale, or pre-prototype) should submit the proposals with the consortia of industry and academic partners in the following thematic areas​;

1. Climate Change and its impact on the socioeconomics of Pakistan (Agriculture, Food Security, Urban Development, Pollution, Floods, Biodiversity Conservation, etc.)

2. Telecommunication, Information and Technology/Computers (applications in Govt. services, health, textile, agriculture & dairy, etc.)

3. Engineering Sciences, Micro Electronics, Water, Power, Energy, and Fleet Management

4. Biotechnology and Allied fields (in Health, Agriculture, Textile, Leather & Dairy, etc.)

5. Material Sciences/Man-Made Material (Nanotechnology)

6. Robotics, Defense, and Military needs

7. Any other applied discipline which is inductive or conducive to the success of products developed or upscale the process of Industrial level manufacturing.
