Lecturing and examination will be held as per schedule for BS (CS, SE, IT) 8th Semester. For PhD/MPhil/MS the mid-term examination and lecturing will be held as per already notified schedule/date sheet.

FCIT signs MoU with PEF
MoU has been signed between the Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) and Professional Education Foundation (PEF)
An MoU has been signed between the Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) and Professional Education Foundation (PEF).Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Pro Vice Chancellor University of the Punjab and Mr. Jawaid Faruqui, COO PEF signed this agreement in the presence of Prof. Dr. Shahzad Sarwar, Dean FCIT and other executives from both organizations.The MoU will serve the purpose to offer scholarships to the students who belong to a relatively low income background. PEF will offer scholarships in terms of full tuition fee waiver to 50 students every year starting from Fall 2021.It is the first time that PEF has offered scholarships to the students of computing disciplines. The organization is already providing financial support to the students of medical and engineering programs.
Each selected student of FCIT will get a scholarship amount 60,000 PKR per year for a period of four years. 50 selected students from a batch will receive scholarship amounting approximately 12 million PKR for four years. Up till now PEF have become a source of smile and future success of more than 2000 students across different disciplines in Pakistan. This contribution by PEF to FCIT will enrich the chances of a bright future for a student struggling through the dark clouds of financial struggles.

GOOGLE DEVELOPERS STUDENTS CLUB
Codefest 2022
Event Date : 20th May 2022.
FCIT conducted a speed programming competition on Friday with the motivation and support from dean FCIT. From faculty special thanks to Dr. Abdullah and Madam Madiha Khalid for their overall support. GDSC team, especially their lead Fatima Sherazi, has dedicatedly worked hard for this competition. I am very thankful to the judges for giving their time to Sir Umair Babar, Sir Ahmad Ghazali, Madam Sanam Ahmad, Dr. Sadia Shahzad. I am highly thankful to Muhammad Ammar Aslam (BCSF17A013) and Hashir Irfan (BCSF17A024) for their volunteering service as judge and system configuration. I am thankful to chairman Software Engineering Dr. Murtaza Yousaf, chairman Information Technology Dr. Waqar-ul-Qounain, chairman Data Sciences Dr. Shahid Manzoor for their support. I am thankful to lab staff, especially Senior Network Administrator Muhammad Rizwan. I am thankful to the media society & event management society for their support. Lastly, I am thankful to all participants for participating in the event with passion.
Junior programming competition held before Friday prayer and senior programming competition held after Friday prayer in the old campus main library, where students from all degrees and both campuses have participated. 56 teams have participated in the junior programming competition and 46 teams have participated in the senior programming competition.
Many of the students were willing to participate but refused due to lack of space and systems availability, we are sorry for that. Next time we were planning to have an event in multiple rounds to give a chance to more students in the first round, so be ready by dedication and hardwork, because this particular event is directly related to your professional career starting soon InshaAllah.
Every participant deserves congratulation and in many cases, it is really, very close and position goes to someone with minute difference. However, position also counts, so many congratulations to winners:

Mindstorm Studios
Summer Internship Program 2022 (Remote)
Mindstorm Studios, through its initiative M-Labs has embarked on a mission to catalyze game building in Pakistan. Our primary focus is to help the industry level up by sharing knowledge and grooming talent through various learning and exposure opportunities for the country’s youth who are passionate about game building. In order to fulfill this task, M-Labs started a 2 months long Summer Internship Program back in 2020, tailored specifically for students to cover different facets of game development such as Game Design, Game Programming and Game Arts.
Holistically, the program is designed to provide students with the right exposure essential to carve a career and excel in the $180 billion global gaming industry. To put learning to practical use, the program also includes mandatory participation in an event called the Rookie Game Jam, in which participants form teams and are tasked to produce a mobile game from scratch. Not only that, students get an opportunity to experience the industrial culture, get mentored by the top game building minds of Pakistan as well as become part and interact with M-Labs game building community, which is now 3000 members strong, making it the largest game building community in the country.
Till date, 2250 students from 125 educational institutes from all across Pakistan have been trained through this program in the fields of game design, arts and programming, making it the largest learning initiative in the country. Furthermore, Rooke Game Jam has become the biggest game building event in Pakistan over the last 2 years, providing the opportunity for enthusiastic game builders to showcase their talent on a national stage.
Continuing on the success of previous years, we are pleased to announce that this year, M-Labs is back with the Summer Internship Program 2022 (Remote). For this purpose, we are looking for interns who are eager to pursue a career either as a game developer, game designer or a game artist from your educational institution.

In order to cater to students from all across Pakistan, the program will operate in a hybrid manner, which essentially means that students can enroll in the internship remotely as well and without the need to come to our office in Lahore on a regular basis.
