Opportunity for Inspiring Entrepreneurs

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has launched an initiative to build a network of technology incubation centers across Punjab. Our program is one of a kind with a highly flexible combination of business development processes, an infrastructure that is designed to nurture and assist new and small businesses by facilitating them through their stages of development.

With 9 centers across Punjab we urge the students to bring forth their ideas, apply for a chance to be incubated and become a part of a community of innovators.

Our tech incubation center is a workspace created to offer startups and new ventures access to an entire spectrum of resources, all under one roof for six months.

The project is funded by the government and is based on a Zero Equity Model. We offer the following services:

· Monthly Stipend

· Office space

· Networking Opportunities

· Mentorship

· Business Development Assistance

· Legal Assistance

Regional Plan9 will be holding its first flagship event ‘Launchpad’ to select the startups to be incubated. The selection will be done by a panel of esteemed judges, all of whom are experts in their field and play an integral part in the tech-ecosystem.

Tkxel Initiative Under Which Top Talent Will Be Entertained

Event Date planned for April 2nd (Saturday) for 5 hours

It will be a platform for universities to showcase their tech talents

Tkxel has taken an initiative under which top talent will be entertained. It will be a platform for universities to showcase their tech talents.

Starting off with the first initiative under this pillar, a coding competition dedicated to graduating students is being planned enabling them to excel in technology careers. The top 10 talented students (regardless of their GCPA) from top universities of Lahore will compete against each other in hands-on Coding & Testing competitions, and the winning university team will be getting exciting prizes and exposure. Additionally, there will be guest speaker sessions and panel discussions, whereby leading professionals from TKXEL share their experiences to help them choose their path among the various engineering disciplines and what Tkxel has to offer.

There will be three winning university teams who’ll be receiving exclusive prizes & giveaways & a chance to be featured as a winning team of their University. Also we'll be publishing the university ranking based on high achievers. It's a great opportunity for Universities to brand themselves as a choice of Engineering Grads.

The event is planned for April 2nd (Saturday) for 5 hours. And Universities are being called to send their best coders/out of the box thinkers for this competition.

Spring Recess

Monday March 28, 2022 to Friday April 8, 2022.

The Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) will remain closed for Spring Recess from Monday March 28, 2022 to Friday April 8, 2022.

During the Spring Recess, there will be no classes for BS (CS, SE, IT, DS), MPhil CS, PhD CS, and MS DS, however, classes will resume from Monday April 11, 2022.

Note: For MPhil CS students the examination of "Communication Protocols & Internet Architecture" will be held on Monday April 11, 2022 at 8:45 AM. Afterwards, for the Semester Spring 2022, classes of MPhil CS/PhD CS will commence at 11:20 AM, on the same day (i.e., April 11, 2022).

11th Job Fair was held at FCIT New Campus

70 IT COMPANIES CONDUCT INTERVIEWS AT PU JOB FAIR

Punjab University’s Faculty of Computing & Information Technology (FCIT) organized a job fair on Friday in which around 70 leading IT companies from software industry set up their stalls.

These software companies are working in the areas of products and services, contributing $4 billion annually to the economy of Pakistan. FCIT Dean Prof Dr Shahzad Sarwar said that the FCIT was committed to imparting quality education and enhancing Pakistan’s share in the global market of software industry. He said that FCIT was country’s leading public sector institution which was producing skilled graduates who were working on key positions in multi-national and national IT companies. He said that the purpose of the job fair was to facilitate FCIT graduates in matching their skills and abilities with the available career opportunities through interaction with recruitment executives and team leads of various software houses. He said that participant companies had conducted interviews and preliminary recruitment tests, collected CVs, presented technological trends and shared job descriptions/specifications of the available opportunities with the students.
