A Software Development Manager is responsible for providing leadership, project planning, and ensuring that projects are completed to the specification, within an established timeframe and budget.
Responsibilities:
- Define, plan, organize, coordinate, manage and deliver multiple development projects/ simultaneously in a scrum-based agile environment.
- Determine the clear scope of work, business objectives, and critical success factors of every development project.
- Monitor project progress and make detailed reports on milestones and deliverables by keeping the scope, budget, and timeline under control.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with cross-functional teams and management.
- Accountable for on-time and quality delivery. Provide leadership and ensure visibility, accountability, and tight timelines, identify & mitigate risks before the projects are impacted.
- Software product release deployments into a variety of environments.
- Communicate proactively with all involved stakeholders to get feedback, identify problems, create solutions and implement efficiency improvements.
- Must have an advanced understanding of the enterprise-level cloud-based systems including front-end, back-end, design, engineering, testing, databases concerns.
- Must have successfully managed Cloud Computing (AWS, Google, Microsoft, etc.), Restful APIs, and All Major CMS-based IT projects.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle and coding standards.
- Monitor KPIs and SOPs to assess technological performance.
- Define processes within the engineering team and make sure everyone follows them.
- MS/BS in Computer Science from a reputable university.
- up to 3 years of technical project management experience.
Essential Skills:
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated understanding of Agile Project Management processes, strategies, and methods
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in the technology department
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines.
- Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising teams.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
- Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head off obstacles
- Candidates who are freshly graduated from the software project management program are encouraged to apply
