Punjab University joined the Knowledge Streams University Alliance
Supporting the development of IT professionals, Punjab University joined the Knowledge Streams University Alliance. Through an MoU signed between University of the Punjab and KnowlEDGE Streams at the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) Campus of Punjab University, the two organizations pledged to work together to design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge IT training programs that meet the needs of the industry. The partnership aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the IT industry and bridge the skills gap that exists in the market.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Niaz Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, appreciated the programs of KnowlEDGE Streams to bridge the University – Industry divide, under the leadership of its CEO, Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi . Advisor Knowledge Streams Dr. Naveed Malik, who is also the founder of FIT (formerly PUCIT) was also present, together with Dr. Shahzad Sarwar, Dean of FIT, who will oversee the implementation of alliance objectives at Punjab University.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for both organizations as the 12-week immersive bootcamp in various technical specialization verticals in high-demand by the IT industry, also ensures that 1/3rd of the time is devoted to the development of soft skills. Graduates of the bootcamp will thus have all requisite skills to excel in industry.
