We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in the role of a Systems Administrator who will focus on improving the efficiency of our infrastructure and availability of our applications.
This candidate must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience managing enterprise class applications and infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing management & support for virtualized Windows based data center environment (300+ VMs)
- Maintain cohesive systems monitoring and reporting to ensure uptime, performance, and efficiency
- Be responsible for server upgrades to keep up with technology and industry standards
- Participate in product discussions, influence the roadmap and take ownership and responsibility for new projects to make them happen
- Lead technical investigations of issues within server infrastructure
- Be willing to work off-hours (occasionally) when necessitated by business requirements or system failures
Required Skills:
- 7+ years recent experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently is a must
- Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills including hands-on experience with various monitoring and reporting software, from Windows built-in to commercial
- Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting web applications in IIS environment and maintaining medium to large Windows environments
- Strong hands-on experience with server virtualization technologies (VMWare preferred)
- Operational knowledge of CIS Security controls
- Proficient in scripting technologies (PowerShell preferred)
Desired Skills:
- Experience with various monitoring packages (e.g. Datadog, New Relic, Zabbix, nagios, cacti, munin, etc.)
- Operational knowledge of open-source systems in a mixed Windows/Linux environment (Red Hat/CentOS preferred)
- Operational experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.)
